The great philosophers have written that Money is not everything in life. Agreed. But, one can’t survive without money either. And So, let’s rephrase our philosophy….

Money is not EVERYTHING in life but Money is ESSENTIAL in life.

When we go through all the years of our school and college education, we gear up to know how to earn money for our living. Unfortunately, no one teaches us how to manage our hard earned money and how to make our money work harder for us.

Looking at the ups and oops of life have in store for a Woman, Money management becomes utmost important. The life challenges can be more confidently faced by us when we have warmth and comfort of our financial wellbeing.

We shall dwell into wonderland of Money Perceptions, Insurances and investments. We shall learn the balancing act of Assets (our Financial Strengths) and Liabilities ( our Financial Weaknesses).

THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS FINANCIAL FREEDOM IS TO UNDERSTAND YOUR MONEY.

It is often assumed that women are not confident enough to handle money management. People also give examples of how a lady will pick up a fashion magazine from the book shelf than reading money management magazine. According to me, these presumptions do not hold true for today’s women. We can not only understand numbers but also master them to suit and improve our lives.

As a Financial Advisor, I have come across any women who are keen on handling their own finances.

Our education system makes us capable of earning money, making us self reliant in that aspect. But culturally and socially, women have  shown dependence on family and friends to do money management for them. The key to change this scenario is Educating yourself in Personal Finance.

So in subsequent posts, we are going to understand Personal Finance in a simple way. Believe me its perfect common sense and I am sure we all have lots of it…..
